Las Vegas Pool Trends

Print E-mail

Pool parties and topless are 2 trends being seen more in Vegas. The topless Moorea at Mandalay Bay is on the sandy beach with very good cabanas. Green Valley's The Pond is a guest only private pool. The Golden Nugget's topless is elevated over the non-topless area.

The 25th floor of the Stratosphere has a topless pool that also has a good view of Vegas, however, it is not for the upscale high rollers as there are no cabanas and they only serve beer. Bare at Mirage is topless and has a Thursday DJ party. Attendance is heavily male however and they pay a premium to get into these European style pools.

Rio now has a topless pool as of May 30, 2008. It is being leased out to the Sapphire Gentlemen's Club for the entire summer and is called the Sapphire Pool. It is the largest of the 5 pools at the Rio. The Rio has also changed their policy to guest only so non-guests can only attend the topless pool.

Of the 11 total cabanas at the Rio, Sapphire Pool has 7 of them with rentals ranging from $500, $750 and $1,000 depending on the size--not day of week sensitive. Drinks are not included but the admittance fee of $20 for men on weekdays, $30 weekends and $40 on holidays is waived on cabana rentals. Women are $10 everyday. Food and alcohol are available with no bottle service minimum yet, although it could change.

For their grand opening, they have about 100 girls from their strip club in attendance. The usual number will be about 30 with 90% of them topless. By the way, what Sapphire is doing is not different from the other pools which compensate some of the topless bathers at their pools.

Cabanas are still being upgraded and the Sapphire website has not been updated for the topless pool. There is no direct phone yet although you can call the Rio at 777-7777 ext. 7196 until then.

Here are the 8 topless pools in Vegas (not counting Sapphire pool):

The Go Pool at Flamingo has a $170 minimum bottle service in addition to the cabana rental fee and Moorea Beach at the Mandalay requires an additional $500 on top of the cabana fee on weekedays and $1,000 more on the weekend. All topless pools in Vegas are 21 or older and all serve alcohol except the Stratosphere which only offers beer. The Wynn cabanas are on the way to the Sunset pool but are not actually at the pool. They have daybeds and lily pads at the Sunset however for $100-$300 depending on the day of the week.
