Las Vegas Conventions and Events—October 2007
Over the last 2 years, October has led all months of the year with sheer number of conventions but they tend to be smaller than average except for the big Auto shows at the end of the month.
The average daily total visitor count for October has been 106,534 and 109,193 for 2005 and 2006—both above average.
UNLV has 2 home games this month at Sam Boyd Stadium but we assume that most attendees will be Locals. The WBC title fight should be a great one but boxing no longer draws like it used to so there will probably be less than an 8K paid gate.
The auto shows (Automotive Aftermarket, AAPEX, SEMA and Autobody) are expected to draw 130,000 attendees. These will be held at the Convention Center and the Sands. If you don’t like crowds, October 23-29 does not have much convention activity.
Vegas Made Easy.com has a listing of all conventions of 1,000 or more and the overlapping running totals day by day.
In reality, conventions often lose attendance towards the very end of the show and sometimes conference goers will come early but our schedule should be a good rough rule of thumb and much more accurate than listing only a few large conventions.
